Do you wish you had a H&S system that works for you rather than feeling frustrated with a piece-meal system that no one seems to understand? Do you want tools that you can adopt for your own business that just work, and avoid reinventing the wheel? Have you ever wondered how to get your system certified to an international standard?
The Health and Safety Management System Implementation handbook is designed to help companies develop a system that complies with the International Management System Standard OHSAS18001. The book is different in that it not only explains what you need to do to implement a management system, but explicitly describes the steps you need to follow for achieving compliance.
This book explains what each clause of a H&S management system requires, and provides templates that are tried and tested to make set up and operation of your system much easier. The book can also help to make existing management systems better. We will have additional downloads available to help as well.
This book is based on the international management system standard OHSAS 18001. This is the only internationally recognized management system standard that organisations can get certified to. It is also easy to integrate the standard with other ISO standards such as ISO 9001 (quality), ISO 14001 (environment) and ISO 22001 (food safety) etc.
The different sections of this book are made user-friendly as possible, and the procedures and records provided can be adopted by many organisations that are developing their own management systems or simply want to make some improvements to those they already have.
These procedures have been tried and tested, but it is up to each organisations to amend them as it sees fit. We will provide additional online resources that readers should check, or make suggestions for new content as required especially in relation to more specific operational control procedures.

“We used to waste a lot of time and energy chasing contractors for compliance information. The mai™ Contractor Portal changed all this. The work gets pushed back on the contractors and they cannot come on site unless all our requirements are met, and each employee has completed the online induction. The daily reports have removed a big headache for us. Real time, relevant and configurable information is critical and this is what makes the mai™ system work so well for us.”
“The mai™ Contractor Portal has made contractor management a much easier process for Pernod Ricard. The portal has allowed us to get rid of our Excel sheets, and saves a huge amount of time and effort spent endlessly chasing contractors. Having real time visibility of contractor details is something we have tried to achieve for a long time, and the dashboard reports provide this for us.”
